Spring and the rebirth of the Walnut Frame

We are just coming out of winter here in Woodstock, NY, and the ever-growing presence of spring has shadowed my reclusive behavior. Thank goodness! For the last 7 or 8 months, I have been gathering more and more drive towards my dreams of becoming one of those designers that one hires for their own interior spaces; One instrument of furniture and decor at a time. Within this accumulation of more and more mill working knowledge, my good friend Steve Spinella and I have jumped in head first to our shop outside of Studio-Woodstock.
For those of you who don’t know, Studio-Woodstock is a space that I designed during the pandemic . This space allows me to work on my photography and design. It also allows me a place to offer all the services I have provided for the many artists I have worked with in New York, London, and California. The studio is up and running, and the prints are flying off the press! The framing department within this studio is also cooking, and boy, is it good! Our most recent job was a commissioned mirror out of Walnut. Although it is not the frame the client asked for, Steve and I stumbled onto a little something that we have fallen in love with on behalf of a measurement slip-up between us and the glass cutter. With this small error we had to implement a design feature that is quite stunning.
I won't point out the flaw as one would never notice but take hold and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Until my next blog post, Stay Busy!
